Nordic Steel acquires Stamas Productions
Nordic Steel is strengthening its team and acquiring 100 per cent of the shares in Stamas Productions AS, a well-established player in the fabrication and installation of steel structures and piping.
– We are extremely pleased that Stamas Productions is becoming part of Nordic Steel. Stamas Productions is a company that for several decades has delivered quality to many different sectors. It is a company that complements us, among other things with its expertise in industrial plumbing, piping systems and pipework. Together we will add even more value to our customers, says Børre Lobekk, CEO of Nordic Steel Group.
Stamas Productions AS was established in 2001 and was 90 per cent owned by Stamas Solutions AS and the remainder by key personnel. Stamas Productions is known for top quality and flexibility with the customer in focus – which bodes well for a future together with Nordic Steel.
– Nordic Steel is a very good partner for Stamas Productions, which opens up exciting opportunities for both employees and further growth. I find Nordic Steel to be an exceptionally professional player, with modern facilities and forward-looking working methods, and not least a very good environment both professionally and socially, says Pål Svanes, chairman of the board of Stamas Productions AS and general manager of Stamas Solutions AS.
Forward-looking Norwegian industry
In 2022, Nordic Steel opened a new 3,000-square-metre production building, which came in addition to the 7,500 square metres built in 2019. The new building provides space for even more jobs and capacity for customers has been increased. With the acquisition, Nordic Steel further underlines its commitment to Norwegian industry and local jobs. Following the acquisition, Nordic Steel has a total of over 120 employees and has access to just over 13,000 square metres of modern production facilities.
– This is something we both hope and believe our customers will appreciate, says Lobekk.
– Our long-term strategy is to grow both organically and inorganically. As we now continue to grow together with Stamas Productions, it is a completely right step for us. We have faith in the people, they add expertise to us and enable us to deliver even more services. We will be a suitable and good owner for Stamas Productions and look forward to developing together, Lobekk elaborates. With an owner like Nordic Steel, Stamas Productions can develop its services alongside a secure, large and solid player that is forward-looking and wants to invest long-term within the mechanical industry.

Strengthening the position
– The two companies have a lot in common, and I believe the acquisition will strengthen both parties. Both Stamas and Nordic Steel have a strong focus on sustainability, and we both work for a more sustainable industry. I am convinced that the acquisition will strengthen Nordic Steel's position as Norway's leading competence centre within steel, points out Svanes.
The Stamas Group has consisted of two companies, Stamas Productions (which is now becoming part of Nordic Steel) and Stamas Solutions. Stamas Solutions continues as a separate company.
– Stamas Solutions looks forward to an exciting and successful partnership with Nordic Steel following the takeover of Stamas Productions. Now Stamas Solutions will continue to refine its focus and further growth within machining, with the customer in focus and the future in sight, says Svanes.
